Golf
Inaugurated in 1989, Amarilla Golf and Country Club has been developed continually, in an area measuring around two million square metres. The 18 hole course is being complemented with another 18 holes. From the course, a player will enjoy the best possible views of the snowy peak of the majestic mount Teide, Spain’s highest mountain. The course itself is surrounded by a broad variety of typical Canarian flora. The designer of the course, Donald Steel, was
able to take advantage of the beautiful contrasts of the Island to achieve a varied landscape between ravines and the Atlantic Coast. Needless to say, the ocean provides a spectacular backdrop to the game, and by the 5th hole the distinction between ocean and fairway becomes indistinct, as the player’s skills are tested with a drive over a particularly ambitious water feature… the Atlantic Ocean!
