26th Newsletter Edition - February 2008

Welcome to February´s edition of our newsletter, and what a busy month it is... lucky it has 29 days this year! The carnival is the hot topic of the moment, for anyone who wants to get a real taste of the island´s personality. But in our first article, we take a look at the Med, where changing weather patterns are predicted to have some devastating effects, some of which have started already. Lloyds Bank are moving south, and are offering a fantastic mortgage deal to make their presence known here. It´s a limited period offer, but if you are considering a purchase this one is really worth grabbing while you can: it will save you thousands! We also continue our series about relocating to Tenerife by looking at the practicalities of healthcare, one of the subjects that we get asked most questions about. And lastly we look at the progress of Royal Marina Golf, with still a few prime units left, but not for long!
And of course, as usual we bring you the islands most interesting news clippings and the best in this month´s property... we hope you enjoy it!

25th Newsletter Edition - January 2008

Feliz Año - We wish a happy 2008 to all our readers!  Welcome to the first newsletter of the year.  We start off with a look at how to make that New Year´s resolution a reality in our first article, and hopefully many of you are promising yourself a home in sunny Tenerife!  Certainly a recent BUPA survey should strengthen your resolve to move to the sun, as you´ll read in our second article.  And if you do move, why not come and work for us... we´re looking for Sales Advisors as you´ll see from the following piece.  This year the weather is very much on our minds, with global warming constantly in the news, and a recent seminar in Santa Cruz, Tenerife´s Capital, looked at some of the direst predictions and their likely impact on the island.  Read all about it in, "Tidal Turnaround for Tenerife".  And in our final article we continue our series about moving to Tenerife with a close look at pensions - a vital subject for all of us, whether we are already retired or still working.  In addition we bring you our usual cuttings from the local news as well as some of the best properties on offer this month.  We hope you enjoy it!

24th Newsletter Edition - December 2007

Christmas is almost upon us and before we go any further, we´d like to wish you a very happy one from all of the team at Tenerife Property Shop! Traditions change and evolve, and our first article takes a look at how many of us now spend our festive season. In contrast, `Christmas Tenerife Style´, our third article, looks at how the season is celebrated here. And while we are all celebrating, we take a look at the economic situation and apply a bit of common sense amidst all the economic speculation. And as usual, we take a look at news cuttings from the press and bring you the newest instructions, the best bargains and the cream of properties in Tenerife.

22nd Newsletter Edition - October 2007

Starting to feel the Autumn chill? More and more of us are choosing to feel the sun on our backs and an increasing number are choosing Tenerife as their new home. In order to take the risk out of making the move, we are going to be starting a series about moving to the island, and we're looking for your help as you'll see in our first article, `Home Sweet Home... In Tenerife'. We also have a look at some appalling reporting in the press, with some sound advice for you in, `Buy Property, Not Newspapers'. The 2007 International Property Awards have been presented, and we take a peep behind the scenes to see just what these awards mean and what goes into them. Finally we look at some of the latest offerings from the press, which seem to be a reversal of the pessimism we saw just a few months ago.

23rd Newsletter Edition - November 2007

The days are getting shorter, but fortunately the sun is still shining all day as we bring you November´s news from Tenerife. This month is packed with information: we have good news to share on inheritance and gift tax, new transparency in mortgages, and the first of our series on moving to Tenerife, concentrating on education. We report on a survey indicating just how many of you are planning to make the move away from the UK, and no wonder! Just as bad news comes from the UK about buy to let investments, it is matched by good news for those same investors here.

21st Newsletter Edition - September 2007

September is here again, and even though the sun is still shining, summer is over. Of course to many of us who live here, it's lovely to be able to find a parking place, get served quicker at the supermarkets and find a deserted beach! While so many of us are considering quitting the UK and Ireland for balmier overseas climes, we look at their impact on the property market this month, and with the aid of an extract from a UK Newspaper, we check out the pro's and cons of moving abroad. As usual, we have a selection of news cuttings from the press, and some of the best properties up for grabs at the moment. We hope you enjoy this month's offering!

20th Newsletter Edition - August 2007

As the mercury rises, residents in Tenerife are agog by the news bulletins of the UK submerged. Our first article charts a sudden upsurge in enquiries for new property in Tenerife, and cites the weather in the UK as a major factor. We also look at the uproar that has been associated with the British Press' inaccurate reporting of the Spanish property market in recent months, as experts and the Spanish public agree that much of it has just been sensationalist news, designed to sell more newspapers. In our third article, we report on a change in law that affects many expatriates, who are self employed. Dubbed as one of the most important laws since the 1980's, it makes self employment a less risky option. Finally, we have our usual selection of news cuttings followed by the cream of what's on offer in the property market at the moment. We hope you enjoy the read, and look forward to meeting you on your next trip to the sun.

19th Newsletter Edition - July 2007

While we hear news reports from the UK of almost biblical flooding, the weather here is glorious. As always, we have some interesting articles for you, starting with the upward trend in long term lettings. You'll probably be hearing a lot about this in the future, but remember, you read it here first! We follow that in a light hearted vein with a poetic contribution from an eleven year old, look at the progress of two new developments and a look back into history with Admiral Nelson. As always, we have some of the more interesting news cuttings from the island, and inspired by all the ‘REBAJAS' posters in the shops, we have a summer property sale! All the best bargains and deals are laid out for you to pick from.

18th Newsletter Edition - June 2007

It's already June, and we're battening down the hatches to prepare for the annual tourist inundation here, having enjoyed a tranquil May. In this month's newsletter we kick off with an interesting article showing why the property market in Tenerife has been so different from mainland Spain. We also take a less than nostalgic look back at life in the dear old UK, and reveal some shocking differences with life here. New developments in Amarilla Golf are making fantastic progress, and we bring you some pictures from Royal Marina Golf, where foundations have now been laid. And as usual, we bring you cuttings from the local news as well as the newest instructions, best bargains and the cream of our resale portfolio. We hope you enjoy the read.

17th Newsletter Edition - May 2007

It’s already May and we’re enjoying the quiet before the storm of summer tourists invading the island. And talking of storms, our first article, Global Dawning, is a fascinating look at the impact that global warming will have on the overseas property industry – and how Tenerife will fare. The marketing department are now recovering from preparing presentations for the 2007 property awards, and our second article is a light hearted look at testimonials. We also update you on some interesting tax law changes that may (positively) affect you, as well as catching up with the building progress of Royal Marina Golf... and of course some titbits from the local news. We hope you enjoy the newsletter, and remember, if you have any suggestions for how to improve it, we’d love to hear from you.
