International Property AwardsTenerife Property Shop S.L. and San Blas Village both won awards last Friday at the Bentley International Property Awards. The fact that awards have been won by two companies in Tenerife is an indicator of the growing importance of Tenerife in the international property market.
Now in their 11th year, the awards are widely accepted as being the 'Oscars' of the property world and have the largest international representation of any recognised property awards. Approximately 450 people from all sectors of the property market and every corner of the globe attended this prestigious event which was presented by rock legend and TV personality, Rick Wakeman. Plaques were awarded to those companies that demonstrate excellence in the property market by Helen Shield, editor-in-chief of International Homes magazine. The judging panel was made up of professionals who are all pre-eminent in their own particular field. Between them they have a collective knowledge of the property industry that is second to none and unsurpassed by any other property awards. Chaired by Eric Pickles, UK Member of Parliament for Brentwood and Ongar, this year's judges included David Hoppit, former Telegraph property editor; Helen Shield, editor-in-chief of International Homes and English Homes magazines; Peter Bolton King, chief executive of the National Association of Estate Agents; Paul Wyatt, head of design for LYCOS UK; Paul Bassi, executive chairman of Bond Wolfe and regional chairman of Coutts Bank; Fitzroy Robinson Architects; the Jack Nicklaus Design Centre, and TV celebrities Laurence Llewellyn Bowen and Phil Spencer. Organisers commented that the number of companies judged this year was considerably greater than previous years, making the winning of an award more difficult than ever before. Tenerife Property Shop won 'Best Spanish Islands Estate Agent'. No other estate agent in Tenerife has so far been honoured with an International Property Award, but this marks the ninth consecutive year that awards have been won by Tenerife Property Shop. Mary Spencer, Director of the company proudly commented, 'This award recognises the hard work we put in behind the scenes to ensure that clients experience a pleasant and stress free experience when buying or selling.' Rick Wakeman, who presented the awards, has himself bought a property in the past, through Tenerife Property Shop. In his speech at the awards he referred to the 'wonderful experience' of buying in Tenerife, as opposed to the nightmare of buying his most recent home in the UK. San Blas Village, the exclusive development nestled between a nature reserve and the sea in the south of the Island won the 'Safe Home' award. The award recognises the level of commitment that the development has put into being in harmony with nature, as well as the quality of construction. San Blas Village is being built in conjunction with a five star hotel and residents will benefit from all the hotel's facilities, including the beach club, health spa and even room service and maids. |
