At El Medano beach those that would like to master the art of windsurfing can eat their hearts out by seeing how it should be done, when watching top windsurfers battle it out in the Grand Slam Windsurfing World Championships. This is serious business and the World Windsurfing authorities determine the most favourable dates for the competition by taking into account the various phases of the moon, as well as wind strength and the state of the sea.

For the fishing enthusiast there is an abundance of opportunities to fish from the shore or just offshore for Barracuda or Tuna. For the strong in muscle as well as heart there are the big game fishing excursions for Marlin, Big Eye Tuna and Shark. No self-respecting fisherman can resist it.

 For those that would prefer to look at the fish rather than catch them, then the underwater world around Tenerife¹s shores are yours with diving facilities to suit both the beginner and the experienced enthusiast. The crystal clear waters of the Atlantic offer magnificent seascapes and marine life in warm water with one of the most agreeable climates in the world. Even in winter the sea temperatures are around 18º centigrade rising to 24º centigrade in summer.
