Mount Teide

Undoubtedly one of the main attractions of the island is the stunning Mount Teide which dominates almost every landscape. Standing at 3,718 metres (12,402ft), the "Pico del Teide" is the highest point in Spain and for the record is approximately three times the height of Ben Nevis and was neamed a world heritage site in 2007.

Cañadas National Park

Explore the 130 square kilometres of Las Canadas National Park set within the perimeter of one of the earth's largest volcanic craters. This is Spain's most popular National Park, welcoming some 3,500,000 visitors a year.  Take a cable car to the top of Mount Teide then have a barbecue with the locals in the pine forest before descending through the giant laurels, eucalyptus, chestnut and almond trees, down to the amazing beaches of the coast with their black, grey or golden sands.

On the way take the time to look at the lush and verdant scenery with a wealth of vivid flora and many varieties of exotic birds and butterflies, banana plantations, red poinsettias, purple bougainvilleas, stuccoed towns and villages.
