Mount Teide Undoubtedly one of the main attractions of the island is the stunning Mount Teide which dominates almost every landscape. Standing at 12,402ft, the "Pico del Teide" is the highest point in Spain and for the record is approximately three times the height of Ben Nevis.
Cañadas National ParkExplore the Las Cañadas National Park set within the perimeter of one of the earth's largest volcanic craters. Take a cable car to the top of Mount Teide then have a barbecue with the locals in the pine forest before descending through the giant laurels, eucalyptus, chestnut and almond trees, down to the amazing beaches of the coast with their black, grey or golden sands. On the way take the time to look at the lush and verdant scenery with a wealth of vivid flora and many varieties of exotic birds and butterflies, banana plantations, red poinsettias, purple bougainvilleas, stuccoed towns and villages. |
